Spray Foam Insulation in Jersey City

Spray foam expands to fill every gap and crack it touches, so it insulates and air-seals in a single application. It's the premium choice for renovations, rooflines and hard-to-insulate spaces.

Open & Closed-Cell Foam for Jersey City homes

Gut renovations are common across Jersey City, and open walls are the best opportunity a homeowner will get to insulate properly. Spray foam bonds to studs, sheathing and masonry and seals around wires, pipes and odd framing that fiberglass batts can never fully fill, which makes it especially effective in older, irregular buildings.

We spray both open-cell foam, which is lighter and cost-effective for interior walls and rooflines, and closed-cell foam, which adds structural rigidity, resists moisture and delivers roughly R-6 to R-7 per inch. We'll recommend the right type for each area, protect your home during application and observe the manufacturer's re-occupancy guidance.

Signs it's time to call

  • Walls or ceilings are open during a renovation
  • Converting an attic into finished living space
  • Drafty rim joists in the basement
  • Cathedral or flat roofs with little room for insulation
  • New construction or additions

How we do it

  1. Site assessment and foam type chosen for each area
  2. Windows, floors and finished surfaces masked off
  3. Foam applied in passes to the specified thickness
  4. Excess trimmed flush for drywall where needed
  5. Area ventilated and cleaned; re-occupancy guidance followed

What you get

Insulation plus air seal

Stops drafts and heat loss with one material.

High R per inch

Closed-cell foam delivers maximum R-value in tight cavities.

Moisture resistance

Closed-cell foam acts as a vapor retarder in basements and rim joists.

Many Jersey City customers pair spray foam insulation with wall insulation or basement & crawl space insulation, so both can be handled in one visit.

FAQ

Spray Foam Insulation questions, answered

What's the difference between open-cell and closed-cell foam?

Open-cell foam is soft, lighter and less expensive, around R-3.5 to R-3.8 per inch, and great for interior walls and rooflines. Closed-cell foam is dense and rigid, around R-6 to R-7 per inch, and resists moisture, making it ideal for basements, rim joists and exterior-facing areas.

Can spray foam be added to finished walls?

Spray foam is applied to open cavities. For finished walls, injection foam or dense-pack cellulose installed through small holes is usually the better option. See our wall insulation service.

Is spray foam safe?

Once properly cured, spray foam is inert. During and shortly after application, occupants need to stay out of the work area. We follow the manufacturer's re-occupancy time and ventilate the space.

Is spray foam worth the higher cost?

In renovations, rooflines and leaky older buildings, the combined insulation and air-sealing benefit often makes it the best long-term value. For simple open attics, blown-in insulation may be more economical, and we'll tell you so.
